Mate Blažina Secondary School in Labin is a secondary education institution that combines general (grammar school) and vocational education. It offers general grammar school programmes as well as vocational programmes in the fields of economics, electrical engineering, electromechanics, installation and assembly, and hospitality (cooks and waiters). Around 480 students attend the school, distributed across 22 classes.
The school is well-equipped, including a sports hall, workshops for technical professions, a kitchen for hospitality programmes, and a school library. A special feature of the school is its recording studio, which encourages students’ creativity. Students regularly participate in competitions and achieve notable results at the county and national levels.
The school is active in international projects such as Erasmus+ and eTwinning and takes part in numerous extracurricular activities and initiatives (e.g. GLOBE, robotics, media and drama groups). It is also known for its work on environmental and research projects, as well as for developing modern teaching methods and students’ digital competences.

Perifereiako Lykeio Livadion

Perifereiako Lykeio Livadion was founded in 2006 in the Larnaca district. Its basic aim is to cater for the educational needs of the students of the area. The school currently has 590 students (aged 15-18) and 90 teachers. In addition to classrooms, the building also has equipped laboratories for Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Technology. There are also special rooms for History, Languages, Art, Religion, Mathematics, Home Economics, Computers, Typing and Music. There is also a medical office, a photocopy room, a library, and management and administration offices. The school is open to close relationships with other schools in the area, as well as educational institutions internationally through student and teacher exchange programs. The students excel at the national level in many scientific fields and participate in many local student programs, athletic competitions and activities that develop their skills. They also participate in many charity events to help students and citizens in need.

Agrupamento de Escolas Álvaro Velho

The Álvaro Velho School, the headquarters of the school cluster, began operating in the 1963 school year. The cluster’s patron is the figure of Álvaro Velho, who is thought to have originated from Barreiro, and who accompanied Vasco da Gama on his voyage of discovery of the sea route to India. He is credited with the authorship of the itinerary or logbook relating to that voyage.
The AEAV has 3 primary schools and a secondary school up to the 9th grade. It has an experienced teaching staff in a stable environment. It provides extracurricular classes, various clubs, and has a team dedicated to inclusion.
